San José, July 30 (RHC) -- The International Cooperation Working Group of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) is analyzing new mechanisms for political dialogue and coordination toward strengthening ties among the bloc's members.

According to organizers of the group's current second meeting, the aim is to strengthen cooperation ties among nations in Central and South America and with their neighbouring Caribbean states, as an indispensable step towards regional integration within CELAC.

Costa Rica's Deputy Foreign Minister, Alejandro Solano, on Tuesday highlighted the existing opportunities for the 33 CELAC members to grow together toward achieving sustainable economic and social development.

As the current pro tempore president of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, Costa Rica seeks to strengthen the bloc's institutional capabilities towards further cementing cooperation spaces based on mutual respect and solidarity among the nations and peoples.
