Gaza City, August 1 (RHC)-- At least 13 more Palestinians, including four children, have been killed in the besieged Gaza Strip as Israel keeps pounding the coastal enclave for more than three weeks.
Late on Thursday, nine people, including four children, were killed after their home was hit by an Israeli warplane in the al-Nuseirat refugee camp near the city of Deir al-Balah. Emergency officials said three more Palestinians were killed in night-time strikes in the southern part of Gaza.
Rescue workers also found the body of another Palestinian, who was killed by Israeli shelling of the Shejaiya district during a humanitarian ceasefire on Wednesday. The attack on Shejaiya's busy market left more than two dozen people killed and at least 200 others wounded, some in critical condition.
The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas described the strike on the Shejaiya district as a "massacre," saying that Israel is "committing deliberate acts of mass murder,” and that “the blood of innocent people in Gaza will not be shed in vain and the hand of justice will reach all of those who planned and carried out these massacres."
At least 1,437 people have been killed and over 8,000 wounded in the relentless Israeli onslaught against Gaza since July 8th. More than 80 percent of the Palestinian fatalities have been reportedly civilians, including over 300 children.
