Bogota, May 6 (RHC)-- The Colombian government and the Central General Staff (EMC), the dissidence of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia-People's Army (FARC-EP) have announced the postponement of the installation of the dialogue table between the two parties, which was scheduled for May 16th.
In a statement, both parties assured that "it is essential to improve the mechanisms for broad and diverse participation of communities, as well as social and popular organizations, unions and other sectors that want to contribute to the development of an agenda."
The decision to postpone talks between the two sides was made by the Government and the EMC in a preparatory meeting in which, according to the Office of the High Commissioner for Peace (OACP), "progress was made in agreements on the architecture of the talks, the guarantors and witnesses who will accompany them, as well as other operational issues that strengthen the nascent process."
