New Delhi, Jun 27 (RHC) Indian authorities on Tuesday rejected former President Barack Obama's questioning of human rights in the Asian country and recalled the record of the United States as a violator of these universal guarantees.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh criticized Obama's views on the treatment of Indian minorities in an interview during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the northern country.

He recalled that during his tenure many Muslim-majority countries were attacked by the United States.

He noted that India considers all nations as one big family.

The day before, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman referred to the inappropriateness of former U.S. president's statements and accused him of being part of the opposition attacks against Modi.

He also highlighted the lack of credibility of Obama's criteria, since during his administration he authorized the bombing of six Muslim-majority nations with more than 26,000 bombs, he reiterated.
