Baghdad, September 5 (RHC)-- At least 17 people are killed in two car bomb explosions in Shia-majority areas in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.
Iraqi security and medical officials said on Thursday that at least 11 people lost their lives after a car bomb hit an area of shops, restaurants and cafés in the northern Kadhimiya neighborhood. The sources confirmed that at least 32 Iraqi people suffered injuries in the blast.
The Iraqi officials also noted that another car bomb explosion hit Baghdad’s district of Karrada, killing at least six people and wounding 17 others.
Baghdad has been repeatedly hit by bombings in the past two weeks. Such acts of violence and terror are usually blamed by Iraqi officials on the ISIL terrorists, who have been wreaking havoc across Iraq in recent months. Iraqi officials say former Ba’athists are aiding the ISIL in carrying out terrorist attacks.
The ISIL terrorists have committed heinous crimes and threatened all communities, including Shias, Sunnis, Kurds, Christians and Yazidi Kurds, during their advances in Iraq.
Senior Iraqi officials have blamed Saudi Arabia, Qatar and some Persian Gulf Arab states for the growing terrorism in their country.
