Brasilia, January 28 (RHC)-- The minister of the Supreme Federal Court of Brasil, Alexandre de Moraes, reports that the Federal Police investigation into a criminal structure in the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (Abin) pointed out that the same benefited children of former President Jair Bolsonaro.

According to the magistrate, the investigated police officers "would have even tried to benefit Renan Bolsonaro in the investigation in which he responds for influence peddling" during the administration of the former ultra-right leader.

Similarly, they had intended to benefit Senator Flávio Bolsonaro through "the preparation of reports to help him in his defense" with respect to the case then open for misappropriation of resources of the Legislative Assembly of Rio de Janeiro.

In turn, Moraes disclosed that the police authorities captured Paulo Magno, an Abin executive, guarding the house of the then governor of Ceará and now Minister of Education, Camilo Santana.

"The Federal Police highlights episodes that clarify the criminal hypothesis, such as the conduct of Paulo Magno, who was caught flying a drone near the residence of the then governor of Ceará Camilo Santana, demonstrating the total illegality of the conduct," said the supreme judge.

During the previous day, security forces carried out 21 raids in residences and offices of suspects of the group that created a parallel structure within the Intelligence Agency.

The investigation indicated that former members of the Brazilian Intelligence Agency carried out, without the corresponding judicial authorizations, clandestine interventions to the national telephone infrastructure, as well as the use of cell phone geolocation tools.
