Caracas, July 7 (RHC)-- The Venezuelan Public Ministry has appointed the National Prosecutor’s Office Number 83, to ”investigate and sanction new threats of assassination against the Head of State Nicolás Maduro”, reported the head of that entity, Tarek William Saab.

The decision came after a statement by a paramilitary group called «Autodefensas Conquistadoras de la Sierra», better known as ”Los Pachencas,” was made public.

The statement reads that they were contacted by "groups of the extreme right #Venezuelan fascist to attack the president of the Republic and destabilize the country in the face of elections," says Saab.

A few hours earlier, President Nicolás Maduro had denounced that the Venezuelan right intends to introduce 1000 paramilitaries from Colombia, to destabilize the country’s peace.

The president said that “this group denounces, that they were contacted by the Venezuelan far right, to enter about one thousand men, to generate violence in the border states, attack the electricity service and when denounce the upcoming elections on July 28th as "fraudulent."

In that regard, President Maduro publicly requested the Attorney General, Tarek William Saab, to conduct the relevant investigations in reference to this case: “This is coming out in real time, they send it to me from Colombia, and a journalist from that country corroborated the veracity of the video of this group with the intelligence of Colombia.”

“Our units in the department of La Guajira have been contacted by extreme right-wing groups in Venezuela, to destabilize the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, the interlocutors have made all kinds of requests, including, attack the electrical infrastructure, act against the candidate president Nicolás Maduro.  Act in case he is re-elected infiltrating us in protests and generating chaos in the streets,” they said.
