Russia serves as a balance against the USA in Southeast Asia
Havana, July 28 (RHC) Russia plays a stabilizing role and serves as a balance in Southeast Asia in the face of the expansion of other external actors such as the United States, the Slavic country's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stressed today.
The head of Russian diplomacy said that Washington and some of its extra-regional allies are expanding their military infrastructure in the region, including strategic weapons, according to a statement published on Sunday on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Lavrov also expressed Moscow's opposition to the possible deployment of US nuclear weapons in Southeast Asia.
No one will benefit if the Americans transfer this unfortunate and rather risky experience to the region. The risks will increase, the Russian minister warned. (Source: Prensa Latina)
