Tel Aviv, November 23 (RHC)-- At least six Israeli troopers have reportedly committed suicide in recent months, due to psychological problems triggered by the prolonged war on Gaza and Lebanon.  The Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronoth reported on Friday that the number of suicides may be even higher.

The regime’s military has so far refrained from releasing the official number of suicides, despite repeated pledges to do so.  The report said thousands of forces have sought help from mental health clinics, with about one-third of those affected showing symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder.

The number of soldiers suffering psychological trauma may exceed those with physical injuries from the war, it said.

Israel launched a genocidal war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, after the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas waged the surprise Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the occupying entity in response to the Israeli regime's decades-long campaign of bloodletting and devastation against Palestinians.

The regime’s bloody onslaught on Gaza has so far killed over 44,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured over 104,200. Thousands more are also missing and presumed dead under rubble.

Israel has ramped up violence against Palestinians in the West Bank since it launched the genocidal war in Gaza, killing hundreds of Palestinians and abducting thousands of others.
