Havana, Dec 25 (RHC) The government of Paraguay has announced that it will allocate 500 million dollars to enhance the work of security agencies in the fight against drug trafficking, which is a priority for the country.
According to reports, President Santiago Peña stated that the funds will be used to purchase equipment and strengthen the efforts of the Anti-Drug Secretariat, the military, and the National Police.
The funds will also support the management of other agencies, the sharing of information, and the coordination of joint operations between various government agencies.
As part of the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking, Paraguay announced on Monday the seizure of 57,000 kilograms of marijuana that was prepared for smuggling into Brazil from the Marangatú region in the department of Canindeyú.
