Havana, November 3 (RHC)-- A fourth group of victims of the Colombian armed conflict is here in Havana, participating in the 30th round of peace negotiations between representatives of the government of President Juan Manuel Santos and the country's largest guerrilla group -the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia-People's Army (FARC-EP).

The previous three groups of victims, each made up of 12 persons, asked both the government and FARC not to leave the negotiating table until a lasting peace deal is finally achieved, to put an end to the more than 5 decades-long armed conflict in the South American nation.

In their latest press releases, FARC-EP accepted their share of responsibility for the victims.

FARC-EP also denounced the direct involvement of some foreign nations, political parties and Colombian businesses, which they said contributed significantly to the situation worsening, and defended their right to rebel in light of prevailing impunity and the broken constitutional order.

According to official figures, the Colombian armed conflict left more than 220 thousand people killed, 25 thousand others forcebly disappeared and nearly six million displaced.

The next round of peace negotiations between the Colombian government and FARC is set to begin November 18th. Nine days later, on November 27th the peace negotiators will listen to the testimony of the last group of 12 victims of the armed conflict, selected for this purpose.
