Baghdad, January 21 (RHC)-- Attacks on Shia neighborhoods in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, have killed eight people and injured scores more. Police officials said on Tuesday that bomb explosions in two major Shia neighborhoods in the Iraqi capital had left eight people dead and dozens more wounded.

The first bombing targeted the New Baghdad district, killing five people and wounding 11. Three passengers on board a minibus traveling in the Sadr neighborhood were also killed when a bomb attached to the vehicle exploded. The bombing wounded seven people.

ISIL Takfiri terrorists have staged numerous attacks on Shias living in various parts of Iraq. However, no one has yet claimed responsibility for Tuesday's bombings.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident in Iraq’s western province of al-Anbar, a bomber reportedly blew up his car in Albu Ghanim area in the town of Ramadi, killing three pro-government forces and injuring 18 more.

ISIL terrorists control swathes of land in Iraq’s west and north and frequently carry out attacks and bombings in other parts of Iraq, claiming lives of many civilians.
