San Jose, January 26 (PL-RHC)-- The first working sessions of the Third Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) have been held here in an atmosphere of consensus, organizers said.

On Sunday, the national coordinators of all 33 member countries of the integration organization started negotiating the documents that will be submitted to the heads of State and Government on January 28-29.

Deputy Foreign Minister Alejandro Solano told reporters that the experts are analyzing 23 draft declarations and the action plan to be debated by the statesmen.

Costa Rica, as the pro tempore president of CELAC, thanks the national coordinators who are revising the documents today for their commitment and excellent work, Solano said on Sunday.

We have had intense discussions, but a good working atmosphere has prevailed in the hall, so major progress has been made in the discussion of the issues, he added.

The experts' sessions continue on Monday, and the foreign ministers will put the finishing touches on the draft declarations on Tuesday, before submitting them to the presidents.
