Mexico City, May 6 (teleSUR-RHC)-- At least 103 Central American migrants who were apparently kidnapped and held captive in a security home in the central State of Mexico were rescued after one of the individuals abducted managed to escape and alert authorities, Reforma newspaper reported on Wednesday.

According to a municipal police report published by the Mexican daily, one man escaped from the house where the migrants were being held against their will in the municipality of Otumba and told the police of the location.

Migrants are from Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, and several others are said to be from India. Police officials told the newspaper that some of the migrants had been held at the house for up to 35 days before being rescued.

No details were released regarding when or how the migrants had been kidnapped. There were women and children among the group of migrants, local officials said. Doctors and nurses were rushed to the house to determine the health status of the migrants, who according to police are in good physical condition.

Local police said that it was now up to federal authorities to determine the fate of the migrants, who were taken to Mexico City to render testimony. Five alleged kidnappers were also detained and handed over to the General Attorney's officials for questioning and processing.
