Roseau, September 11 (PL-RHC)-- Dominica remains on high alert for possible floods and landslides by the remains of a tropical storm, which could worsen the disaster caused by the Erika storm.
The weather report indicated the measure could be further held as the next few hours large rainfall levels are expected in the country and the soil is saturated by rainfall from previous weeks. Given these forecasts, authorities evacuated coastal population and also from the most affected areas by the Erika storm, which left at least 31 deaths, some 20 people missing and damages valued at millions. Authorities also asked the population to protect their lives and property, as well as boiling and properly disinfect drinking water to prevent infectious diseases.
