Bogotá, March 31 (RHC)-- Colombia's second largest rebel group, the National Liberation Army (ELN), has been removed from the most wanted list of the world's largest policing organization, the Interpol.

The move follows Wednesday's announcement that the ELN had begun peace talks with the government of Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos. Interpol had placed the ELN members on their lists during their 51-year internal struggle.

The Colombian Attorney General's office has also removed ELN leaders from their most wanted lists.

The Colombian government and the ELN had been in preliminary talks for more than two years, but had failed to begin formal negotiations until this past Wednesday.
