New York, May 17 (RHC)-- Billionaire U.S. presidential hopeful, Donald Trump, will meet with the former U.S. Secretary of State who backed the overthrow of Chilean President Salvador Allende.  The Republican Party’s presumptive presidential nominee is set to meet with controversial former statesman Henry Kissinger in New York this week, the Washington Post reported on Monday.

The newspaper says that Trump met with former Secretary of State James Baker last week and is set to meet with Kissinger, National Security Advisor and Secretary of State under President Richard Nixon, on Wednesday.  The billionaire presidential candidate is hoping to get an endorsement from the aging Kissinger, who is now 92 years old.

Henry Kissinger played a crucial role in shaping U.S. foreign policy between 1969 and 1977, when the U.S. was carrying out its war of aggression against Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, and supported the CIA-backed military coup that ousted the democratically elected socialist president of Chile, Salvador Allende.
