Baghdad, June 28 (RHC)-- At least 14 people have been killed and 32 more wounded in a bombing attack at a mosque in western Baghdad.  According to police and medical sources, an attacker detonated his explosive vest at the mosque in the capital’s western suburb of Abu Ghraib early on Tuesday.

No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack but Daesh Takfiri terrorists usually target military positions and civilians in the Arab country.  The incident was the first of such since the Iraqi government declared victory over Daesh in Fallujah, located further to the west of the country.

Violence has plagued the northern and western parts of Iraq ever since Daesh terrorists launched an offensive in June 2014, and took control of portions of the Iraqi territory.  The Iraqi army, backed by volunteer forces, has been engaged in extensive battles against the Daeshis and made gains in pushing the militants out of the country’s cities and villages.
