Quito, August 5 (RHC)-- The Chapel of Man Museum, in Quito, Ecuador, was chosen to host a political and cultural gala as part of celebrations in the Andean nation on the 90th birthday of Cuban Revolution leader Fidel Castro.
The Chapel of Man Museum was designed by Ecuadorian painter, the late Oswaldo Guayasamin specifically to house his collection of paintings that pay tribute to Latin American peoples, their suffering and accomplishments, from the pre-Columbian world through conquest, colonization and integration.
Posthumously recognized as 'Painter of Ibero-America', Oswaldo Guayasamín was a close friend of Cuba and of leader Fidel Castro, whom he painted on four different occasions.
