Havana, November 29 (RHC)-- Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro arrived in Havana late Monday night to attend the funeral of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro, who died Friday night at the age of 90.
Upon arriving at Havana's José Martí International Airport, Maduro, on behalf of the Venezuelan government and people expressed their heartfelt sympathy and strong solidarity with the Cuban people in this sad time.
Other world leaders, who arrived in Havana Monday included Bolivia's President Evo Morales; the Prime Minister of Dominica Roosevelt Skerrit, Greece's Alexis Tsipras, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines' Ralph Gonsalves, and Antigua and Barbuda's, Gaston Browne, as well as the Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao, and the President of the Vietnamese National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, who is heading a high-level delegation from the Asian country.
Other leaders have also confirmed their attendance at Fidel Castro's funeral. These include the Presidents of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, and Mexico's Enrique Peña Nieto, the French Minister for the Environment Segolene Royalt, and France's Special Envoy for Latin America Jean Pierre Bell.
