CELAC: Latin America and the Caribbean, a Zone of Peace. Foreign Ministers and Heads of State begin to Arrive on Sunday in Havana for CELAC Summit

Havana, January 26 (RHC)  The National coordinators of all 33 countries with the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), approved in Havana several documents, including one which declares the region as a Zone of Peace.
The announcement was made Saturday evening by Cuban deputy foreign minister Abelardo Moreno, who chairs the coordinators’ meeting, underway till Sunday at the venue of the Summit in Havana.   
The coordinators also approved a document on the decision to establish a CELAC-China Forum, meaning a space favoring all kind of cooperation relations between China and the Latin American and Caribbean countries. Common interests on this project will be identified in the future, said Moreno.
These and other documents adopted by the coordinators will be submitted to the meeting of CELAC foreign ministers, which will take place Monday, prior to the Summit of Heads and State, slated for Tuesday and Wednesday.
On Sunday, the coordinators are discussing the Declaration of Havana and another 20 special declarations of significance for Latin America and the Caribbean.
Meanwhile, foreign ministers from CELAC member states are arriving on Sunday in Havana, along with the heads of state of Brazil, Haiti, Guyana and Bolivia. Also expected  on early hours on Monday UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
