Havana, July 25 (RHC)-- The coordinator of the 28th U.S.-Cuba Friendshipment Caravan, Luis Barrios, affirmed that Pastors for Peace will continue the fight to eliminate the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba more than half a century ago, which he described as “unjust, illegal and immoral.”
Speaking to reporters at the Cuban Institute of Friendship with Peoples, ICAP, Barrios recalled the contribution of the activists to the release of the Cuban Five anti-terrorist heroes, as well as the struggle to get the Caribbean nation off the U.S. State Department list of countries allegedly sponsoring terrorism.
He also denounced the restrictions and obstacles imposed by different U.S. administrations against the caravan over 25 years, and warned that its members will stand firm against any ramifications against them by the new authorities in Washington.
As part of the activities in our country, Pastors for Peace are planning to attend National Rebellion Day celebrations on Wednesday in the western Cuban province of Pinar del Río.
