Havana, May 3 (RHC)-- Cuba and Cape Verde will expand collaboration in the health sector, following a bilateral agreement signed in Havana on Wednesday.

The accord was penned by Health Minister Roberto Morales and his Cape Verdean counterpart, Arlindo do Rosario. It provides for Cape Verdean doctors studying specialties in Cuban medical universities.

The two sides addressed also Cuba’s help in developing healthcare tourism in the African nation and the general training of human resources.

Minister Do Rosario will tour local health institutions in Cuba. She will visit the Institute of Tropical Medicine and the Havana's Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology.
The minister said also that Cape Verde is interested in acquiring well-known Cuban bio-tech drugs, such as Heberprot-P, a leading drug for treatment of diabetic foot ulcers, as well as anti-cancer vaccines.

The Cape Verdean minister participated also in the "Health for All 2018" international convention, attended by 1,800 experts and doctors from 93 countries.
