Havana, May 10 (RHC)-- The Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned the decision of the United States government to pull out from the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan (JCPOA) or Nuclear Agreement with Iran and to reinstate sanctions on this country.

In a statement issued in Havana, the Foreign Ministry argued that “failure to comply with these international commitments violates the rules of coexistence between states and can have serious consequences for stability and security of the Middle East. “

The text added that Cuba opposes the application of unilateral coercive economic measures against any country and recognizes the legitimate right of all states to the peaceful use of nuclear energy.

It also called on the UN Security Council to fulfill its responsibility in the maintenance of international peace and security, and urged it to demand the enforcement of its resolution 2231 (2015) on the Iranian nuclear issue, which was unanimously approved by that body.
