La Paz, July 12 (RHC)-- Bolivia will begin to export milk, textiles, cellphones and computers, among other items, to Cuba under a new agreement for financial and trade mechanisms.
The agreement, signed in La Paz by Bolivia's Minister for Productive Development and Pluralistic Economy, Eugenio Rojas, and Cuba's ambassador to that Andean nation Benigno Pérez, also provides for Cuban exports to Bolivia.
A Cuban delegation led by deputy foreign trade and investment minister Ileana Núñez, visited Bolivia in March to explore and identify short-term trading opportunities.
During that visit, the two sides reviewed the agenda of the Working Group for Economic Complementarity created following official talks in May 2017 between President Evo Morales and then Cuban Vice President Miguel Díaz-Canel.
The working group covers five main areas: trade of goods and services, financing, logistics, joint investment and business and trade promotion.
