Permanent commissions of Cuban Parliament hold sessions

Havana, April 11 (RHC)-- The permanent commissions of the Cuban Parliament are meeting throughout this week to review core issues pertaining to the country’s economic and social development.

Gathered at Havana’s Convention Center, Cuban deputies are also debating the draft resolutions on Fisheries, National Symbols and the country’s Electoral Law.

Addressing the Parliament’s Commission on Economic Affairs, Economy Minister Alejandro Gil offered Cuban deputies detailed information on the national economic and social development program through 2030.

Meanwhile, Health Minister José Ángel Portal addressed the parliamentary Commission on Health and Sports and spoke about the country’s epidemiological situation, professional training programs in medical sciences, and the sector’s results so far this year.

Also Cuban Foreign Ministry officials are informing members of the parliament’s International Relations Commission on U.S.-Cuba ties under Trump, specially Washington’s decision to implement Title III of the infamous Helms-Burton Law.

Other issues under discussion through Saturday, April 13th include also food production, the 2018-2019 sugar harvest, the housing construction program and the fight against corruption.
