Havana, February 12 (RHC)—Cuba has sent its condolences to the government and people of Mozambique for the death of National Hero Marcelino dos Santos. The president of Mozambique, Filipe Nyuse made the announcement. The veteran of the liberation struggle died Tuesday in Maputo. He was 90 years old.
Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez expressed the island’s regret on Twitter.
“Heartfelt condolences to the people and government of Mozambique on the death of National Hero Marcelino dos Santos, founder of FRELIMO and great friend of Cuba and our historic leader Fidel Castro. Our condolences are extended to his family and friends,” he said.
