Cuba reports 32 new cases of COVID-19; two more deaths

Havana, April 5 (RHC)-- Cuba reported on Sunday 32 new cases of COVID-19, bringing to 320 the number of people diagnosed with the disease on the Caribbean island.

 

All confirmed cases were Cuban nationals and traced to contacts with foreigners or Cubans who had traveled abroad or other known cases.

 

The head of Epidemiology at the Ministry of Public Health, Dr.  Francisco Duran said that 1887 patients are hospitalized in observation, of them 291 are suspected cases and 295 are positive cases.  283 are reported in stable, 8 in critical and 4 in serious condition.

 

Two additional deaths were reported on Sunday.   A 71 year-old female from Sancti Spiritus, and a 74-year-old male from the Isle of Youth; the first case in that special municipality.

 

At the community level, the primary health care system is keeping surveillance on some 16,306  people.
