Cuba reports 58 new cases of COVID-19, 3 deaths

Havana, April 9 (RHC)— Dr. Francisco Duran, head of Epidemiology at the Cuban Ministry of Public Health reported on Thursday that 58 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed, for a cumulative total of 515 positive patients diagnosed on the island.

Speaking on Cuban radio and television, Duran said that of the new cases, 56 are Cuban nationals and 2 foreigners.  According to the report, of the 515 diagnosed with the disease, 454 are in stable, 8 in critical and 8 in serious condition.

The Health official announced three more deaths due to COVID-19 added in the past 24 hours to a total of 15.  

He also noted that the new coronavirus is reported in 180 countries and that the disease has infected some 1.5 million people in the world, with a death toll of 81.478.

In the Americas, there are 450,500 confirmed cases, amounting to 38.8% of all infections in the world.
