Havana, May 1 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel sent greetings on this International Workers' Day to all workers in the vanguard of the struggle against COVID-19.

On his Twitter account, the head of state called to pay tribute this May 1st to "those who sustain life and defend it with sacrifice, dedication and commitment" in the midst of the current epidemiological situation.

Accompanied by the message "#MiCasaEsMiPlaza, celebrando el #PrimeroDeMayo" -- the president shared a photo with his wife, Lis Cuesta, and a Cuban flag in the background.

In his message, the Cuban leader referred to how the workers of the Caribbean nation are commemorating this day, due to the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic.

He also evoked, as a guide for the present, the Concept of Revolution raised by Cuban leader Fidel Castro exactly 20 years ago today.

In front of a crowd gathered in Havana's Plaza de la Revolucion -- on May 1, 2000 -- Fidel Castro said that Revolution means defending values in which one believes at the price of any sacrifice; it is modesty, selflessness, altruism, solidarity and heroism; (...) it means never lying or violating ethical principles.
