London, July 2 (RHC)-- A condemnation of the most recent attempts at aggression and false accusations by the US government against the international medical cooperation program was launched in London by the Cuba Solidarity Campaign (CSC) in the United Kingdom.

This British organization emphasized its denunciation of the new bill sponsored by Republican Senators Rick Scott, Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz, with the aim of classifying Cuban medical brigades as victims of human trafficking, as well as demanding sanctions against countries that request such solidarity aid from Cuba.

The organization's director, Rob Miller, described the U.S. project as "a shameful attempt to use the power of the United States to intimidate other smaller nations that have sought and received Cuban medical aid," the Prensa Latina news agency reported.

The official letter from the CSC highlights that more than 30 countries requested and received the cooperation of the Cuban medical brigades to confront COVID-19 -- including Italy, Andorra, and the British overseas territories of Anguilla and the Turks and Caicos Islands.

In addition to thanking the United Kingdom government for its support of Cuban internationalist medical missions, the CSC defended Havana's right to cooperate with other nations, without the threat of sanctions from the White House, whose sole purpose is to stifle the island's economy.
