Cuba prioritizes epidemiological study and low mobility to confront  Covid-19

Havana, September 16 (RHC)-- Authorities from Western and Central Cuba, areas with the highest Covid-19 incidence on the island, prioritize the epidemiological survey and the reduction of mobility as the main measures to confront the disease.

During the meeting on Tuesday of the temporary working group to evaluate the pandemic's behavior in the country, the president, Miguel Díaz-Canel, warned about the importance of determining the source of infection of the positive cases through an exhaustive study of the transmission chains.

In the last 15 days, ten provinces have reported transmission of the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, which causes the pandemic. Ciego de Avila presents the most complex epidemiological situation, with 42.8 percent of the confirmed cases on the last day.

According to the Minister of Public Health, Jose Angel Portal Miranda, from August 25 to date, this central province has reported 206 infections, so it registers the nation's highest incidence rate: 45.07 per 100 thousand inhabitants.
