Vice Admiral Julio Cesar Gandarilla Bermejo

Havana, November 24 (RHC)--In the early hours of this Tuesday, Vice Admiral Julio Cesar Gandarilla Bermejo, Cuba's Minister of the Interior, died from a prolonged illness, reported Granma newspaper.

In breaking the news, the daily said Vice Admiral Gandarilla Bermejo treasured a brilliant service record, occupying important responsibilities in the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the Ministry of Interior. In his performance, he was always distinguished by proven loyalty.

Granma added that with total respect to his will, his corpse will be cremated. As another sample of the modesty and humbleness that characterized him, his request not to carry out any military ceremony or public funeral will be fulfilled.
