Havana, July 17 (RHC)-- Cuba today reported 6 062 new patients with Covid-19 and 43 thousand 569 active patients in hospitals, the latter the highest number in 16 months due to a prolonged upturn of the SARS-Cov-2 virus.
Since July 9, health authorities have reported more than 6,000 infections due to the high autochthonous transmission and a complex situation in the western province of Matanzas, the epicenter of the disease in the country.
The total number of sick people since the arrival of the disease in Cuba accumulates 275,608, and 1843 deaths, explained the national director of Epidemiology, Francisco Durán, in a televised press conference.
