Havana, October 4 (RHC)-- Part of Cuban students returned to face-to-face classes this Monday.
Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez and Minister of Education Ena Elsa Velazquez attened the resumption ceremony at the Carlos Rafael Rodriguez Preubiversity Institute in Old Havana.
The reinstatement for students belonging to the twelfth grade, the third and fourth year of pedagogical training, and those in the third year of technical-vocational education (ETP) responds to the progress of immunization, with a strategy based on the full vaccination of the entire school-age population before returning to the classroom.
At present, there are 29 pedagogical schools in the country, 19 of which function as isolation centers to care for patients positive for the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.
In this regard, the Minister of Education, Ena Elsa Velázquez, informed that, until these institutions are released to their usual functions, students will be taught in classrooms in their municipalities of residence.
In a similar situation are 40 of the 397 pre-university centers throughout the country, to which 41,631 twelfth grade students are arriving today.
