Venezuelan President highlights the strength of relations with Cuba

Caracas, October 22 (RHC)-- Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro highlighted the strength of relations with Cuba and stressed the commitment to expand bilateral ties in various areas of strategic interest.

In statements to the media from the Miraflores Palace, the Venezuelan President made a balance of the meeting held with the Cuban Deputy Prime Minister, Ricardo Cabrisas, on the work of the Intergovernmental Commission of the comprehensive cooperation agreement between both countries.

"Cuba and Venezuela are today more united than ever before, working on plans to develop them jointly and achieve the satisfaction of the needs of our peoples in the Bolivarian concept of the greatest possible happiness', emphasized the head of state.

In this regard, Maduro said that the authorities of the two nations reviewed all areas of cooperation affected by the impact of unilateral coercive measures implemented by the U.S. government.

The dignitary underlined that the alliance between Venezuela and Cuba is on the right track, aimed at increasing exchanges in health, education, culture, and sports, as well as in the energy, industrial, agricultural, and food spheres.

Regarding the actions to control the Covid-19 pandemic, the President emphasized the good results of applying the Cuban Abdala vaccine in the Venezuelan population, of which the South American country will receive up to 16 million doses before the end of 2021.

Maduro informed that coordination is underway to start producing tentatively in January 2022 in Venezuela that anti-Covid 19 vaccine.

The Venezuelan President ratified his full support to his Cuban counterpart Miguel Díaz-Canel, in a message of solidarity addressed to the people of the Caribbean nation.
