Havana, June 12 (RHC)-- In Cuba, children are considered full subjects of rights recognized in the Constitution of the Republic, the island's Foreign Ministry said Monday on the occasion of World Day against Child Labor.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recalled the date in a tweet and remembered one of Fidel Castro's thoughts on children: "Children always conquer the hearts of the people."
In Cuba, the rights of minors are not only established in the fundamental law. They are also ratified in the Family Code, a legislative project that, after widespread consultation, will soon be submitted to a referendum for its final discussion.
In the opinion of national authorities and Cuban and foreign specialists in this matter, this legislative text is highly inclusive and responds to the most current international concepts on Family Law.
