Havana, July 29 (RHC)-- Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero called to improve anti-vector actions and assume all hygienic-sanitary measures to control dengue in the country.

On Twitter, he noted that the battle against Covid-19 should be taken as an example at this time.

At a recent meeting of Cuba’s highest leadership with experts and scientists to analyze health issues, they praised community participation to prevent the proliferation of the Aedes aegypti mosquito, which causes dengue and other diseases.

During the session, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel noted the need to guarantee the quality of home admission and, above all, to develop prevention work that anticipates the appearance of cases.

The experts agreed that to prevent and control dengue, controls in the workplaces are essential because this is a battle that belongs to everyone and an individual’s self-responsibility is essential, according to the website of the Presidency of Cuba.

“If we don’t win the fight against the mosquito, we are not going to contain dengue transmission,” Public Health Minister Jose Angel Portal said at the meeting.
