Stockholm, October 31 (RHC)-- The Swedish-Cuban Solidarity Association today rejected the U.S. blockade against the island and expressed confidence in the resounding victory at the UN of a new draft resolution on ending that extraterritorial policy.

On the occasion of the upcoming vote at the United Nations General Assembly, we proclaim once again our categorical condemnation of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed on Cuba, it stressed in a statement signed by its chairman, Zoltan Tiroler.

On November 2 and 3, the multilateral body will host for the thirtieth time the presentation, debate, and discussion of a text that establishes the need to end the siege in force for more than six decades, an initiative similar to the one adopted since 1992 by the international community, without Washington listening to the universal demand.

Once again we will see the almost unanimous vote of the nations of the world demanding the end of the blockade, said the Swedish association, very active in its support and solidarity with the Caribbean country.

He also pointed out that in addition to governments, thousands of organizations and millions of people all over the planet are demanding the end of a policy that he described as torture against an entire people.

Surely we will also see how the superpower (the United States) disregards the will of the world and mocks International Law, the UN Charter, and the wishes of the peoples and nations, he denounced. (Source: PL)
