Havana, Dec 19 (RHC) Residents of Cinco Palmas and neighboring areas recalled on Sunday the 66th anniversary of the reunion of Fidel and Raúl Castro, in Sierra Maestra, in the municipality of Media Luna, in the eastern Cuban province of Granma.
This time, the people of Granma ratified their support for the speeches made by the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel, in the recent sessions of the Plenary of the political organization and the Parliament.
Almost 30 kilometers from the head of Media Luna, Cinco Palmas was the place where the Revolution was saved when Fidel, Faustino Pérez, and Universo Sánchez met again with Raúl and other expeditionaries of the Granma yacht, such as Almeida, Che, and Camilo.
On December 18, 1956, Fidel's affirmation was confirmed: "Now, we can win the war!", and he would continue the struggle until the triumph of the Revolution on January 1, 1959. (Source: Radio Reloj)
