Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez

Havana, Dec 29 (RHC) On Thursday, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez said that the Joe Biden administration maintained, in 2022, the policy of maximum pressure of his predecessor, Donald Trump, to make Cuba's economy collapse.

The head of Cuban diplomacy tweeted that Washington stimulated destabilizing actions, together with misinformation operations to try to blame Cuba for the impact of US inhumane policies.

The minister pointed out that Cuba’s resistance and the growing international demand to remove the Caribbean Island from the unilateral list of countries that sponsor terrorism show the isolation of that US genocidal policy that makes the Cuban people suffer.

Also on Twitter, Rodriguez mentioned his speech at the United Nations General Assembly in November, when once again he called for the lifting of Washington’s blockade against Cuba.

Cuban authorities reported that from August 2021 to February 2022, the economic, financial, and commercial blockade caused losses of over 3.8 billion dollars, an amount considered historic for seven months.

During the first 14 months of the Joe Biden administration, the damages amounted to over 6.36 billion dollars, which means over 15 million dollars a day in damages, he stated. (Source: PL)
