President Díaz-Canel receives credentials of new ambassadors to Cuba

Havana, January 11 (RHC)-- The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel received Wednesday the credentials of the new ambassadors of Greece, Colombia, Syria, Pakistan, Austria, Azerbaijan, Jamaica, Order of Malta, Malta and Gambia.

Accompanied by Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez, the head of state accepted in a solemn audience the diplomatic accreditations of Theodore N. Tsakiris, from Greece; José Noé Ríos, from Colombia; Ghassan Obeid, from Syria; Arif Alvi, from Pakistan; and Gabriele Méon-Tschürtz, from Austria.

He also welcomed representatives Ruslan Novruzoglu Rzayev, from Azerbaijan; Franz Nicholas Hall, from Jamaica; Justin Sterling Simpson, from the Order of Malta; André Damato, from Malta; and Sheikh Tijan Hydara, from Gambia.

During the ceremony, the dignitary welcomed the new diplomatic representatives and reiterated his support to successfully carry out the "mission entrusted to them in Cuba", the Presidency of the Republic said on its Twitter account.

Likewise, Díaz-Canel thanked the ambassadors for the support of their nations in the struggle of the island against the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States for more than six decades. (Source: Prensa Latina).
