Mohamed Salem Salek, SADR Minister of Foreign Relations
Sahrawi refugee camps, January 16 (RHC) Cuba is part of the family for the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), as well as an incentive in the struggle for the right to self-determination, a senior Polisario Front official stressed today.
Mohamed Salem Salek, SADR Minister of Foreign Affairs and a relevant figure within the Polisario organization, assured that Cubans are not only an inspiration for their example in defense of the Revolution but also in the medical and educational collaboration they have provided to the Sahrawi people.
Our battle for independence and sovereignty, to recover the territory seized by Morocco, is tireless and eternal; having Latin American allies such as Cuba and Venezuela is a tremendous stimulus, Salek commented to Prensa Latina.
"Fortunately, we have read a lot about the Cuban Revolution, the Mexican Revolution, and many Spanish writers, with whom we not only learned about law and politics but also many principles of solidarity", he analyzed.
He insisted that SADR and the Polisario Front are promoting the reform of the Security Council and the General Assembly and recalled that the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, called to re-found international relations based on equality and mutual respect.
Earlier today, the leader of the Polisario Front and president of SADR, Brahim Gali, sent a warm message to the Cuban people and authorities of the Island.
On the occasion of the celebration in these territories of the XVI Congress of the organization, Gali received the Cuban delegation headed by Yudí Rodríguez, a member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, who ratified the solidarity of his country with the cause of this people.
