Havana, Feb 18 (RHC) Cuban Ambassador to Norway Maite Rivero Torres met on Friday with Merete Fjeld Brattested, director general of Multilateral Affairs at the Foreign Ministry of Norway.
In a cordial atmosphere, they reviewed issues of interest for Cuba in the multilateral sphere and the existing cooperation between the two countries in international organizations, especially within the United Nations.
During the meeting, Rivero expressed his gratitude for Norway’s vote in favor of the resolution Necessity of ending the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba, approved last November 3 at the UN General Assembly.
On Thursday, Cuba’s top diplomatic representative in Norway received poet Gunnar Wærness.
They exchanged ideas on possible actions to develop relations between the two countries in the field of culture and various artistic manifestations, particularly literature.
They also discussed at length the Havana International Book Fair, whose 31st edition is taking place with the virtual participation of Wærness. (Source: Prensa Latina)
