Diaz-Canel talks with representatives of the people of Santa Clara

Havana, Feb 25 (RHC) This Friday, the eight candidates for deputies to the National Assembly of People's Power for the municipality of Santa Clara met with representatives of the sports movement and workers of the Dairy Industry in this province.

The candidates talked to sports glories in this province, members of the baseball team, workers and students of the sports academies, as well as doctors directly linked to the attention of the athletes.

The voters discussed the need to promote and rescue a greater number of sports areas in the communities; to improve food, transportation, and infrastructure in the sports schools.

The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, thanked them for the meeting after listening to the interventions of voters and fellow candidates.

He spoke of the need to listen to learn more about the problems and the challenges facing sports in Cuba.

We have had many shortages, which have affected all sectors, including sports, which has sometimes prevented us from achieving the preparation demanded by our high-performance athletes and allocating more resources to repair areas and sports centers, Díaz-Canel explained. Despite this reality, as part of the transformation process that is being carried out in several localities of the country, sports facilities have been restored and have been inserted into the activities of the community.

The candidates' tour continued at the Dairy Industry, where important investments are being made to expand production at this center, which currently only processes milk for children between zero and seven years of age.

In his Twitter account, the Cuban president described these exchanges as "Genuine dialogues that provide solutions. Culture, ethics and law; values, truth, and justice in these meetings of debate and learning". (Taken from the website of the presidency)
