Summit between Cuba and China
Havana, March 16 (RHC) Cuba was represented in the summit between the Communist Party of China (CPC) and world political organizations, according to a report by the Cuban embassy in the People's Republic of China.
In his speech before this forum, Emilio Lozada, Head of the Department of International Relations of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, ratified the support of the Communist Party of Cuba to the initiative of the General Secretary of the CPC and President of China Xi Jinping to promote global citizenship.
The embassy added that the event served as an “opportunity to discuss the role of political parties in processes of modernization of each nation and the exchange between civilizations.” Apart from Lozada, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel also expressed support for Xi’s proposal.
During the inauguration of the summit, the Chinese dignitary stressed that tolerance, coexistence, exchanges, and mutual learning among different civilizations play an irreplaceable role in advancing the processes of modernizing mankind.
He advocated that any progressive program contemplates the construction of a better planet for future generations. He also called for respect for the right of each nation to explore its path toward modernization, guaranteeing equitable access to growth opportunities, and without abandoning global cooperation and solidarity.
In that regard, he spoke of China’s goal of becoming a modern socialist state by mid-century and the CPC’s commitment to strengthen exchanges with other parties to establish a new model of international relations.
Xi commented that along with this process, China will further open the doors of its market, offer better nationally made products, contribute with its solutions to reduce the North-South gap, and seek to speed up the construction of the Belt and Silk Road initiative. (Source: PL)
