Minister of Culture of Palestine is in Cuba

Havana, May 1 (RHC) - Palestinian Minister of Culture Atef Abusef arrived is in Cuba to attend the meeting of heads of that branch of the Group of 77 and China.

The event will be held this Thursday at the Havana Convention Center and will have culture as a global public good and its social and economic dimension as its analysis themes.

In a previous preparatory meeting, Ana Margarita Morejón, director of International Relations of the Cuban Ministry of Culture, indicated that the adoption of a final declaration aimed at concrete actions to promote culture and multilateral bonds is expected from the meeting.

The meeting will also take place as the First International Congress of Cultural Heritage, which will take place from Wednesday to Friday at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Havana.

Fernando Rojas, Cuba’s Vice Minister of Culture, recalled in recent statements that heritage constitutes one of the main axes of reflections on culture and this congress is linked to the contributions of the group in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

He stressed that one of the agreements of the UNESCO World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development, held in October in Mexico City, was the need to give culture an important place on the multilateral agenda of that United Nations organization. (Source: Prensa Latina)
