In his presentation at the opening session, Jaishankar thanked the broad participation in the event, which Cuba is attending with a delegation headed by the governor of the central province of Cienfuegos, Alexandre Quintero.

Jaishankhar also celebrated the increase in bilateral economic ties and stressed that exports from his country to several Latin American nations are twice as high as those of neighboring States or traditionally important trading partners.

The chancellor ratified the interest in reaching a commercial link of more than 100 billion dollars by 2028, that is, double what is currently being executed. To achieve the goal, the Minister of Foreign Affairs called for exploring new paths in mining, renewable energy, health services, infrastructure, digitization and innovation, and agriculture, based on food security.
