Havana, September 9 (Web Network)-- Cuba's Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez lamented on Saturday the loss of human lives and damage caused by the powerful earthquake in Morocco, which occurred last night.
In his profile on the social network X (formerly Twitter), the foreign minister expressed his condolences to the Moroccan people and government, as well as to the families of the victims.
Likewise, Rodriguez wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
The strong earthquake of magnitude 6.8 on the Richter scale was felt in coastal cities such as Rabat, the capital; Casablanca and Essaouira.
The number of dead reached 1,037, in a preliminary balance, as well as the injured, who were counted at 1,204, 721 of them seriously.
