Havana, Oct 29 (RHC) The greatness of the National Ballet of Cuba (BNC) stood out in the gala ceremony for its 75th anniversary, with the performance of young ballet dancers and acclaimed professionals under the BNC founders´ symbolic gaze.
The gala was held on Saturday at the Avellaneda Hall of Havana’s National Theater, and from the performance of the first work entitled La función se prepara… to the memorable final parade the applauses did not stop.
The gala ceremony was attended by the Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel and other government officials and guests.
With emotional opening words, the head of the Ideological Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Rogelio Polanco, was inspired by the words of the Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro when he said that it was the 75th anniversary of a great miracle.
Polanco recalled that Fidel Castro said two decades ago at the opening ceremony of the 28th edition of the Havana Ballet Festival: “this is the miracle of talent and willingness of its founders Alicia Alonso, Fernando Alonso and Alberto Alonso, who conceived a genuine Cuban dance movement of popular inspiration and universal scope.
